Privacy notice Quibla Delivery Updated October 2026

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Quibla Delivery collects, uses, and stores personal data submitted through quibla.delivery. The site operator can be reached at info@quibla.delivery or by mail at 1402 Terry Ave, Seattle, WA 98101, USA.

What this policy covers at a glance

The rows below are a short index of the whole document. Each one points to the section that explains it in full, so you can jump straight to the part you care about.

Collected directly

Information we collect

Two sources: what you send us, and what the server records

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and message content when you use the contact form or write to us. This is the same information any reader would hand over when emailing an editorial desk, and it is used to answer what you asked.

We also collect limited technical data automatically, including browser type, device type, and pages viewed, in server logs and through analytics tools. That data tells us whether a piece about waffle house menu traditions actually reached readers, which pages people open at night, and where a broken link needs attention. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not linked back to a name unless you wrote to us yourself.

Our own editorial work does not require more than that. We do not ask for a phone number on the contact form, we do not require an account to read the blog, and we do not collect payment details anywhere on quibla.delivery.

How we use information

Everything on this list serves one of four jobs: answering you, reviewing a story tip, handling a correction, or understanding which articles are worth writing next. Nothing here feeds a mailing list, and nothing here is sold.

Responding to messages Reply

Your name and email let us write back with an answer, a clarification, or a request for the detail we are missing.

Reviewing story tips Tips

Readers send us leads about diner shifts, closures, and long-running staff. We read them and keep the useful ones with the note you sent.

Correcting published pieces Fixes

If you tell us a detail in an article is wrong, we use your message to check it and update the page.

Understanding what gets read Analytics

Aggregate page views show which sections of the blog earn their keep and which ones need rewriting.

Keeping the site running Hosting

Server logs help us trace outages, blocked requests, and abuse without keeping a record of individual readers.

What we never do Not sold

We do not sell personal data, and we do not add contact form submissions to marketing lists of any kind.

Cookies and tracking Browser-level control

Cookies and tracking

The site uses cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and analytics. Details are described in the Cookie Policy. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how parts of the site work.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not share personal data with third parties except where necessary to operate the site, such as hosting and analytics providers, or where required by law. Providers are expected to handle data only for the purpose it was shared.

In practice that means a hosting company stores the files and the logs, an analytics tool counts page views, and an email provider carries the messages you send. We keep that list short, and we do not pass your details to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone building a list to sell on.

How long we keep it

Retention

Contact messages and tips are retained for as long as needed to handle the request and maintain editorial records. A correction request, for example, may stay on file so that a later editor can see why an article changed.

Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated. Once they are aggregated, they no longer identify a single visit, and they stay useful only as a rough count of what the site serves on a given night.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you. Send requests to info@quibla.delivery and include enough detail for us to identify your record. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you would rather not write about a personal matter, you can simply ask us to delete everything connected to your email address and we will do that.

Children's privacy

The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, write to info@quibla.delivery and we will remove it. We would rather delete a record we did not need than keep one we should not have.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The current version is always posted on this page, and the date at the top of it tells you when it last changed. If a revision affects how we handle messages you already sent, we will describe that in plain language rather than leaving it to a version note.

Common questions about this policy

Do I need to give my name to read the blog?

No. Reading is open to anyone, and no account is required. We only hold your name if you typed it into a message you chose to send us.

Can I send a story tip without my real name?

Yes. Use a nickname in the form if you prefer, and tell us in the message that you want to stay unnamed. We will keep the message but not repeat your name in the article. If we need to verify a detail, we will ask how you would like us to reach you before going further.

Will writing to you get me added to a mailing list?

No. Contact form submissions are not used for marketing lists. If you want to hear about new articles, that would be a separate choice you make yourself.

How fast will you answer a data request?

Within a reasonable period, and we will tell you if it will take longer. Requests sent to info@quibla.delivery during working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, are read first. Include the email address you used and we can find the record faster.

Does the site collect anything I did not type in?

Only standard technical data, such as browser type, device type, and pages viewed. There is no account, so there is no profile to build beyond that.
